The humble liltte story about Wink Wax Welless ( extracted from Successful Entrepreneur 2010)

From Outstanding to Remarkable’ – this is the philosophy of two-year old Wink Wax Wellness. The passion plus hunger for success has urged the husband-
and-wife team to better their waxing services – initially starting with unisex Brazilian waxing in a one-room 300 square-feet shop at Boat Quay up to a
1000 square-feet rented shop at Peck Seah Street providing unisex hair removal, slimming & contouring and facial & rejuvenation.  Today, Wink Wax
accommodates its services to an array of tourists, expatriates, locals and even local and international students.
The added advantage of eight-years experience in picking the trades in the beauty line, Wendy decided to further her passion and career by setting up
the company. A tag team - she manages the company together with her husband, Richard who focuses on brand-building and enhancing customer-
service relations.
“We want to see to the needs of our customers. So, we created a homely shop to ensure that their five senses are sensually attuned,” Richard said. Not
only does Wink Wax provide a cosy ambient, customers’ privacy and requests are efficiently met and satisfied.
Having been trained in Australian and Paris waxing methods, Wendy cleverly combined both methods. After years of understanding different kinds of hair
textures, it resulted in the commencement of the IPL also known as Permanent Hair Removal. “The IPL treatment minimises pain with the sensitive-
caring permanent hair removal machine. Also, the brands used caters to individual’s skin types,” a customer said. So far, it has received excellent
feedback and commendable results.

Initially at Boat Quay with zilch customers, their business was hit rock-bottom. To solve the ordeal, they created a Wink Wax Wellness website with a safe
and reliable video about their waxing service appealing to none to a hundred thousand viewers. Gradually, an abundant flow of customers experienced
the fast and smooth waxing services plus the sincerity from the entrepreneurial couple. Ever since, a number of a thousand clients patronised from just a
dull zero.
“Must have the passion and drive to succeed in whatever you do,” they said. Wink Wax Wellness may have just started but what it holds is a bright new
world waiting.
