**Brazilian Waxing FAQs**
**Q: I've never had a Brazilian wax before, and I've heard it can be quite painful for first-timers. Is this true?**
A: If you regularly shave, the hair root is thicker than usual, requiring more effort to remove during waxing. At Wink Wax Wellness, we strive to make every Brazilian wax as painless as possible. However, some minor pain may occur due to individual pain tolerance levels. We apply pre-wax oil and a cleansing solution before the hot wax, followed by a smoothing cream to minimize discomfort and irritation.
**Q: Can anyone have a Brazilian wax? I'm a 15-year-old male and feeling nervous about it.**
A: Brazilian waxing is suitable for those aged 16 to 80 years old who have started growing pubic hair. The minimum hair length for waxing is at least 1cm.
**Q: I just finished my menstrual cycle today. Can I have a Brazilian wax?**
A: It's recommended to wait until seven days after your menstrual cycle has ended before having a Brazilian wax. If your period occurs during the treatment, it will be stopped immediately.
**Q: I want to remove unwanted hair, especially in the pubic area. Is waxing the best option for me?**
A: Waxing is one of the safest solutions available, as most wax products are organic and gentle on the skin. However, since reproductive organs are close to the pubic area, some risks are involved.
**Q: Will my hair stop growing after several Brazilian wax sessions?**
A: No, waxing doesn't close your pores like IPL does. The advantage of waxing is that hair becomes thinner and finer with each session, eventually becoming almost painless. Brazilian waxing is recommended for short-term hair removal purposes.
**Q: What should I do if I experience irritation, itching, or discomfort after my Brazilian wax?**
A: A small number of people may experience these symptoms. We offer effective aftercare products for healing and welcome any questions you may have.
**Q: Do Brazilian waxes have whitening effects?**
A: The waxes we use have slight whitening effects. For more noticeable results, we recommend our Gold Concentrate Ampoules, which can be applied daily after bathing. This product offers various benefits:
1. Leaves skin silky-smooth after hair removal and contains papaya extract
2. Thins hair regrowth
3. Provides whitening effects
4. Reduces pain for subsequent Brazilian waxes
5. Prevents ingrown hairs

Q: Is IPL/DPL/OPT Hair Removal treatment for me?
Yes, almost everyone can be treated, apart from very dark skinned or tanned individuals. However, not all pigmented lesions can be treated. Large, dark moles should not be treated, nor should lesions covering a large part of the body. The pigmented marks that respond the best are superficial lesions such as those caused by sun damage (sun spots) and freckles.
Q: How is the treatment carried out?
You will be asked to put on goggles to protect your eyes. A layer of chilled gel is applied to the area to guide light into the skin. The area may also be cooled to increase comfort during treatment. The light applicator is placed on the skin and a short pulse of light is released. The applicator is then moved to the neighbouring area and the process is repeated until the entire area is treated. The chilled gel is removed and the area moisturized.
Q: How does the treatment feel?
Most patients describe the discomfort as moderate and acceptable. No anaesthesia is required.Sensations vary but most describe it as a very short hot pin prick.
Q: How long does each treatment take?
The length of each treatment will depend on the type and size of lesion present, but a typical session will take 15 to 30 minutes.
Q: What should I expect after the treatment?
Redness and a slight warming sensation are normal after treatment. A cooling pack will be applied to the skin to ease these symptoms. The lesions will darken after treatment and may appear more obvious at first, but gradually the marks will fade away.Continued sun exposure may result in recurrence of the original mark and sunscreen should be used to prevent this happening.
Q: Are there any side effects with this treatment?
The skin of some patients becomes quite red immediately after treatment. However, most patients experience no side effects and the redness usually disappears within hours to a few days.
Q: How many IPL, DPL, OPT Hair Removal treatments are necessary?
The length and number of IPL treatments will depend on the various conditions, but typical anywhere from 4-8 treatments will be needed. Treatments should take place approximately every 4 to 6 weeks.
